The terms "personal data" and "individual data" are defined as follows:
- personal data – data concerning natural persons and relating to their lives and circumstances; such data always pertain to a specific individual (Art. 5 para. 1 of the Act on Public Statistics);
- individual data – data concerning economic entities, other legal persons, organizational units without legal personality, and their activities; such data pertain to a specific entity (Art. 5 para. 1 of the Act). These data may be used solely for statistical compilations, tabulations, and analyses, and for the creation—by public statistical services—of sampling frames for statistical surveys conducted by those services.
