How data requests are handled

The request is forwarded to the copyright holders conducting the research, who assess the feasibility of fulfilling the request. If the assessment is positive, the applicant receives information about the terms and conditions of the order (scope of data that can be made available, deadlines, costs). After written acceptance of the terms and conditions, an agreement is drawn up between Statistics Poland and the applicant, which regulates, among others, the terms and conditions of data disclosure and the obligations of the parties.

The order is finalized after the contract is concluded and the payment is made to Statistics Poland bank account specified in the contract.

Method of data transfer

The prepared data sets are checked in the context of statistical confidentiality. The data is transferred to the applicant via the TransGUS platform – a secure ICT channel used to transfer data in electronic form.

Data from social statistics and censuses are made available at Stanowisko Naukowiec – an IT environment designed for in-depth, specialized analyses carried out by scientific and research institutions or universities, located at the headquarters of Statistics Poland or the statistical office (currently at the Statistical Office in Łódź). The possibility of using the Stanowisko Naukowiec is specified in an agreement concluded between the scientific unit and the public statistics unit. Together with the agreement, the scientific and research institution or university using Stanowisko Naukowiec is provided with the necessary technical instructions and substantive and IT support.
