Other groups
The lectures, seminars, and workshops have been prepared for representatives of public administration, academic staff, teachers, entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions, and other data users and partners of public statistics.
Proposed seminar/workshop topics:
- Public Statistics Information Resources – a course conducted as a lecture covering the public statistics system and its functioning, sources and methods of data collection, and the principles of data dissemination, including statistical confidentiality. Participants will be introduced to the structure and content of the Statistics Poland (GUS) Information Portal and the Statistical Office in Łódź website, including available reports, publications, databases, and dashboards..
- Local Data Bank (BDL) – Poland’s largest organized collection of information regarding the socio-economic, demographic, and social situation and the state of the environment, describing voivodeships, counties, and municipalities as entities within the state’s social and administrative organization system, as well as regions and sub-regions constituting elements of the nomenclature of territorial units for statistical purposes,
- STRATEG – a database containing key indicators supporting the monitoring of national and regional development,
- The Geostatistical Portal is a modern solution for presenting statistical data in a spatial context; it serves as an invaluable tool for strategic decision-making at all levels of management. It facilitates the collection, presentation, and dissemination of information to a wide range of users, including public administration bodies, businesses, individual users, and research institutions. The system is a modern tool used for the cartographic presentation of statistical data derived from national censuses and the Local Data Bank (BDL). It also enables users to upload their own data and perform advanced spatial analyses based on it.
Data visualization on kilometer grids is also available, as well as geocoding, which allows coordinates or administrative boundaries to be linked to tabular data. Users can save a presentation created in this way to the repository and share it externally via a link or social media.
When conducting analyses, the user can choose:
- the geographical area (analysis covering all of Poland or, for example, a specific voivodeship, region, or sub-region),
- the visualization method (e.g., a choropleth map or various types of diagram maps),
- method parameters (customizing the visualization to specific needs).
- SMUP (Public Services Monitoring System) is a modern tool that provides local government units, businesses, and the general public with the information needed for a comprehensive (multidimensional) assessment of services provided at the local level. The presented indicators relate to four fundamental dimensions of service description: quantity, quality, accessibility, and financial efficiency.
This information is based on public statistics resources as well as data collected by the administration from numerous dispersed sources. The indicators are presented at the service delivery level (e.g., the municipality level), but the system also includes values aggregated at higher levels (e.g., the voivodeship level).
SMUP enables:
- browsing and downloading data on services and explanatory information (including interpretative guidelines);
- graphical visualization of data (indicators and variables) on charts and maps;
- wykonywania operacji na danych (sortowanie, filtrowanie, sumowanie, itp.);
- prowadzenia analiz porównawczych z wykorzystaniem benchmarkingu.
It is possible to request training or workshops on public statistics topics not listed in the current offer.
