Podlaskie Centre for Regional Surveys comprises Regional Analyses and Surveys Section, Statistical Elaborations Section and Statistical Informatorium.

The task of Regional Analyses and Surveys Section is to conduct research and analyses relevant to the specific characteristics of the region, as well as to provide informational support to local government units and government administration bodies within Podlaskie Voivodship.

The responsibilities of Regional Analyses and Surveys Section include, in particular:

  • conducting research, preparing statistical data compilations, information, and analyses for the needs of government administration bodies and local government units, including those arising from the need to monitor the implementation of cohesion policy,
  • initiating research and analyses relevant to the region’s specific characteristics and conducting them in cooperation with scientific and research institutions,
  • developing methodologies, conducting research and analyses, and preparing materials for publication regarding the “Green Lungs of Poland” ecoregion,
  • conducting research, analytical, and publishing activities in the field of cross-border and Euroregional statistics.

Statistical Elaborations Section is responsible for coordinating the Office’s publishing activities, preparing publications and statistical studies that describe the region’s socioeconomic situation, and producing studies that contribute to the publications and reports of Statistics Poland and other statistical offices. Statistical Elaborations Section develops the Office’s publishing plan and handles translations.

Statistical Informatorium is responsible for managing and coordinating the Office’s information activities, including providing information services to government agencies, local government bodies, the press, radio, and television, as well as other entities and individuals, and maintaining the Office’s archives.

The responsibilities of the Statistical Informatorium include, in particular:

  • providing services to users of statistical information by making information available on-site, by telephone, and in writing,
  • disseminating the results of statistical surveys in the form of publications, printouts, electronic media and on the Office’s website,
  • making available classifications, nomenclatures, and codes used in statistics,
  • maintaining catalogs and registers of statistical information resources,
  • selling and distributing statistical publications issued by Statistics Poland and the Statistical Office in Białystok,
  • coordinating activities related to the popularization and promotion of statistics and disseminating knowledge about its information resources,
  • cooperating with the mass media.
