Polish-Korean Project on the Use of Modern Data Sources in Tourism Statistics

In collaboration with the Korea Development Institute, we are launching the project “Strengthening Urban Tourism Using Smart City Data.” This is the second Polish-Korean research initiative funded under the Knowledge Sharing Program.

The project focuses on using modern data sources to better monitor changes in urban tourism and support decision-making processes in local government.

“Modern cities are dynamic and complex data ecosystems. From mobility patterns and environmental monitoring to tourist flows. Smart City data allows us to observe reality almost in real time. For national statistical offices, this represents both an opportunity and a responsibility: transforming scattered data into coherent, reliable information that is useful for public policy,” emphasized Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, President of the Statistics Poland.
